In 1823, Esquissaud family acquired the estates of Château Faugères and Péby Faugères.
Fast forward to1987, It was inherited by Pierre-Bernard Guisez. Up to then, all the wine produced had been sold to a single local merchant. P. Guisez and his wife Corinne wanted to become more involved in the vineyards, setting out on a quest for the finest quality.The monumental winery designed by Mario Botta is situated at the top of the plateau overlooking Château Faugères, built in the 18th-century chartreuse style.
In 2005, the property was acquired by Silvio Denz -owner of Lalique. Thereafter, on the occasion of the reclassification of the appellation Saint-Emilion in 2012, Château Faugères was raised to the status of "Grand Cru Classé".
Blend: 85 % Merlot,10 % Cabernet Franc and 5 % Cabernet Sauvignon
