Located on the left bank, "Vaillons" is one of the first climats(vineyards) to be classified as a Premier Cru on this side of the river Serein.
Vaillons means "Little valley". The name of this Chablis Premier Cru vineyard comes from the Latin word vallis.
Jean Dauvissat and his son Sebastian, are the most recent in an extended line of the Dauvissat family that has been in possession of this notable domaine since 1899.
The first formal bottling of wines under the Dauvissat label occurred on a limited scale in 1963. Currently, Sebastien and Evelyn Dauvissat are continuing the work of this historic domaine.

Terroir and Location: Vaillons has south and east exposure hence receivess morning sun. Its shallow soil allows grapes to ripe quickly. The subsoil displays a high concentration of Kimmeridgian limestone.
