This family domaine derives its name from "Maxime Lejuene" who traces its ancestry back as far as French Revolution.
This domaine is situated amongst the recently renovated buildings of the Brotherhood of the Saint Sacrement.
Pommard vineyards lies between Beaune and Volnay. This area formerly belonged to the Dukes of Bourgogne to religious houses including the Abbey of Citeaux and famous local families e.g. Marey-Monge family.
Domaine Lejeune has stayed and passed down in same family for five generations. It now belongs to the Jullien de Pommerol family. The cellar boasts many large and traditional oak fermentation vats. Some of them encircled by 17 hoops of white birch which is one of its kind in the entire Burgundy region.
Blend: 100% Pinot Noir
AOC: Pommard
Tasting Notes:Its aromas are redolent of blackberry, bilberry, or gooseberry, cherry pit and ripe plum. It needs to be given time to open up to its fullest extent and to display its mouth-filling texture.
At full maturity, it tends towards chocolate and pepper. It has firm but delicate structure and chewy tannins which by then will be properly smoothed down.
